A family history since 1741
The François Baur estate was founded in the picturesque village of Turckheim in 1741. Following in his father Pierre’s footsteps, Thomas Baur represents the 9th generation of the family vineyard. He draws on the know-how of his ancestors while keeping an open mind. The estate, which has been fully converted to organic and biodynamic farming since 2001, offers wines of great complexity.
Cadre atypique
Between traditional craftsmanship and modernity, Maison Baur is constantly improving. Among the 70,000 bottles produced each year, classic wines rub shoulders with terroir cuvées and exceptional Grands Crus.
The estate is made up of a varied vineyard. The limestone hillside of Heimbourg is a late-ripening terroir that produces wines of character. Resting on south-facing granitic soil, Grand Cru Brand is known for its ageing wines of great aromatic complexity. At its heart, Clos de la Treille boasts an exceptional concentration of wines that will find their place on gourmet tables.
