An African restaurant in Strasbourg that, in addition to making you discover the cuisine of there with original dishes, is a place of culture where concerts, conferences and other events take place. ! Afro-Creole inspired, opens for breakfast, lunch, brunch and evening after-work on Fridays. With Sokhna in the kitchen that highlights her origins and her husband Guillaume who animates the place thanks to his pronounced taste for culture, they have created an original place perfectly mixing their universes.

The menu cleverly includes exotic dishes, snacks, breakfasts and other surprises. It opens with the Breakfast Club, a selection of different generous pleasures to start the day. Then come the lighter formulas with hot drinks and pastries available to choose from.

From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on weekdays enjoy the Weekly Brunch which starts with three formulas to choose from: Quicky, But First and Kick Ass. From 10am other choices are possible including: Mama Benedict, Hot Pancakes, Mama’s Granola Pear Hibiscus or simply Pancakes.

On Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm enjoy the Brunch Week End with as a typical dish the Afro Bowl (Wolof rice, pulled roast chicken or roasted tofu, teranga sauce, plantain, sweet potato and edamame, alloco and avocado) to choose from. This brunch is available in vegetarian and gluten-free versions! As a drink, brunch is accompanied by a cold drink and a hot drink of your choice.

Unfailing creativity at Hey Mama

At lunch, four dishes are available:

  • Kamisa Negra (Wolof rice, beef effiloché, pikliz, plantain, sweet potato, edamame, teranga sauce (Senegalese tomato sauce))
  • Jerk Burger (Brioche buns, bourbon candied onions, homemade jerk chicken steak, coleslaw, potato shot)
  • Shakshu Mama (leek fondue, cassava leaves, poached eggs, feta, avocado, fresh herbs, country bread with Zaatar)
  • Moyo Moyo (oven-roasted chicken cutlet, attiéké (cassava semolina), moyo sauce (Beninese virgin sauce), green papaya pickles)

The establishment also offers vegetarian and vegan versions, you just have to specify your desire at the time of ordering. The allergen map can also be requested at this time.

In addition to an excellent menu with a panel of advantageous choices, the creative Sokhna concocts a dish of the day for only 10.90 euros, a Mama Love formula is also present it includes: 1 savory dish, 1 sweet dish, 1 cold drink and a hot drink.
