A fertile breeding ground for talented winemakers
For over 150 years, Domaine de l’École has been both a winery and a place of learning. Located at the Lycée Agricole in Rouffach, it provides students with full-scale training. They work in viticulture, winemaking and wine sales, making the estate self-financing. A virtuous loop where exchange and transmission benefit everyone. The estate, which is constantly evolving and modernizing, offers 5 ranges of wines with an annual production of 60-70,000 bottles.
On a marl-limestone soil facing south-south-east, the grape varieties ripen in the best possible conditions. The 14 ha vineyard covers 4 appellations: AOP Alsace, AOP Alsace Côte de Rouffach, AOP Grand Cru Vorbourg and AOP Crémant d’Alsace. The 2.9 ha of Grand Cru Vorbourg benefit from an airy, well-drained soil rich in pebbles, giving the wines plenty of body and minerality.
