Founded in 1934 by Joseph, an artisan butcher, and Adelphine, a cook, Hostellerie Groff has enjoyed a rich history since its inception nearly 90 years ago. Destined to be handed down from generation to generation, the establishment was taken over in the 1970s by Gérard, Monique and Alice Groff, who developed the restaurant and hotel. In the 2000s, their daughters Catherine and Françoise expanded the business to include two 3-star hotels in Biesheim, each with 24 rooms. Françoise, the current owner, carried out major renovations in 2020, including a swimming pool accessible by reservation to guests dining in the restaurant, as well as a park planted with flowers and trees, and a summer terrace protected by a large lime tree.
In the restaurant, chef Pascal Gutknecht, a loyal member of the Groff family for 15 years, offers traditional, homemade cuisine, from the bread to the ice cream! The menu evolves with the seasons, highlighting local produce. In the dining room, Carole Adam takes great care of her customers.
Themed evenings featuring world cuisine are regularly organized, and a charming barn is available for private and corporate events of up to 60 guests, embodying the spirit of hospitality so dear to the establishment.
