Terroir wines have real character
Domaine Kirrenbourg, born in 2015, aims to highlight the unique characters of Alsace’s vineyards. Initiating this project, entrepreneur Marc Rinaldi surrounded himself with the most qualified professionals in their fields. A fitting return to the region where he grew up, and a way of restoring Alsace’s wine credentials. This group of enthusiasts continues to sublimate great wines through constant questioning and innovative means.
The success of the estate is based on the alchemy between land, nature and people. This is where biodynamics really comes into its own. With a first DEMETER-certified vintage in 2018, this method of cultivation is the most successful way of preserving the identity of terroirs and creating the most representative wines, in a sustainable way. The magic of their wines lies in their natural grapes, which are enhanced by the hard work of their winemakers to produce authentic, unadorned cuvées that are always unique.
Of the 10 hectares of Grands Crus, 7 ha are located on the Grand Cru Schlossberg and 3 ha on the Grand Cru Brand. For quality production, each parcel is vinified separately, resulting in three levels of wine quality: Grand Cru Schlossberg, Terroir S, and Kaysersberg Roche Granitique. Riesling (51%) and Pinot Noir (24%) account for 75% of their production.
