Winegrowers from father to son since 1620
From the union of grandfather Humbrecht and grandmother Trapp, the estate has been passed down in the family for 4 generations. The winegrowing history of the Humbrecht ancestors in Gueberschwihr dates back to 1620, when the estate nestled in the Trapp family home. In 2012, Patrick succeeded his father Michel, and took over the reins with his wife Ann-Sophie. The farm, classified HVE in 2019, is awaiting organic certification in 2023.
The estate wants to preserve the codes of Alsatian wines and its traditional know-how. Nevertheless, the estate is open to innovation for greater working comfort, and knows how to adapt to trends to ensure customer satisfaction.
Most of Gueberschwihr is planted on clay-limestone soil, which has the advantage of never suffering from water stress. The estate owns the beautiful Grand Cru Goldert, with its heavy soil and lots of substance, producing very rich, powerful wines.
