Brasserie Michel Debus, located in Schiltigheim near Strasbourg, is not only a gastronomic mecca, but also a vibrant center of brewing culture, thanks to the production of Storig beer. Founded by Michel Debus, an emblematic figure in the Alsatian brewing industry, the brewery combines tradition and innovation to offer unique, high-quality products.
Michel Debus, after a distinguished career at the Fischer brewery where he innovated with products such as Adelscott beer, founded Brasserie Storig in a spirit of resistance and innovation. The aim was to revive traditional Alsatian craft brewing practices while adding a modern touch. The brewery is located in the Villa Weber, a historic building that was once part of the Adelshoffen brewery.

Brasserie Michel Debus is renowned for its wood-fired meats and flambéed tarts, prepared in a setting that celebrates the tradition of Alsatian Bierstubs.
Brasserie Michel Debus and its restaurant embody the essence of Alsace, a place where tradition and modernity meet to create an unforgettable culinary and brewing experience.
Storig beer, a creation of the brewery, is a craft beer produced using traditional techniques and local ingredients, reflecting the richness of the Alsatian terroir. Each Storig beer is characterized by distinctive notes contributed by different varieties of malts and hops, offering a range of unique flavors.
Michel Debus is one of those who have contributed to the history of beer in Alsace, and particularly in Schiltigheim, the “city of brewers”. The former boss – for over 30 years – of the Fisher and Adelshoffen breweries, after being the first to create a flavored beer in France, a beer with aphrodisiac properties sold by Minitel, the metal beer capsule, at 90, the indefatigable hop lover has created his own brewery, Storig.
He passed away in 2022 at the age of 95, and will always be remembered as one of Alsace’s most famous and innovative master brewers.
