Modern comfort & medieval character in the heart of Riquewihr
Right in the heart of Riquewihr, Agnès and Thierry Muller fell under the spell of an exceptional Renaissance residence on the Alsace Wine Route.
Their plan was to offer guests a comfortable stopover in an authentic and exotic setting to start their discovery of Alsace with their family, as gourmets or as lovers.

Agnès: “We saw in this house the unique character and its soothing architecture right in the middle of the city. The inner courtyard is a haven of freshness and silence in summer. The winegrower’s cellar with its unique character, fireplace and stone walls is both a place of relaxation and a large room to gather families around a large kitchen. Having travelled extensively throughout Europe and often rented accommodation, we have a clear idea of the type of welcome we want to give to our regular or passing visitors. The landscapes of the Wine Route inspire my husband, a photography enthusiast”

Originally the residence of nobles in the Middle Ages, the house changed hands several times, becoming a butcher’s shop until 1995.
To meet today’s standards of comfort, it required extensive renovation, while respecting its unique character. After 7 months of work in early 2017, the house named Latérale Résidences opened its doors in July 2017.
The residence now offers air-conditioned rooms and apartments for 2, 4 or 6 people, with fully equipped kitchens, TV in every room, free internet via Wi-Fi.

Built in 1568, this noble residence, steeped in history, has been able to retain its charm and character. It now combines modern comfort in medieval architecture, right in the historic center of one of the most beautiful villages in France. The project was again awarded 4 stars by the French Ministry of Tourism in January 2023.
The couple named each apartment after a personality who has contributed to Alsace’s influence over the centuries, including Hansi, Gutenberg, Bartholdi, Bugatti, Hans Arp and Tomi Ungerer. Each room has its own decoration, its own cozy or modern atmosphere.
