This is unquestionably THE typical Alsatian restaurant.
The Winstub Flory welcomes you to the heart of Colmar’s old town and offers traditional Alsatian cuisine all year round, in an authentic and friendly setting. In fine weather, you can enjoy a lovely shaded terrace.
Winstub is an Alsatian word composed of “win”, meaning “wine”, and “stub”, which refers to the living room in traditional Alsatian houses.
Winstubs were originally quite popular places, created to enable wine producers to sell their produce by running an inn directly in their home.
In a warm, rustic setting, wine was served by the pitcher, accompanied by homemade local dishes.
Today, the Winstub (or Wistub) is a traditional restaurant where people eat elbow-to-elbow in a convivial atmosphere, on tables with red and white checkered tablecloths. It’s the place to eat, drink and rediscover the art of Alsatian living!
