We currently cultivate around 7 hectares of vines, all located within 2 kilometers as the crow flies of our winery.
We grow all the different grape varieties of Alsace, but the specialty of our village is Klevener de Heiligenstein, an excellent gourmet white wine made from a grape variety that is unique in France: savagnin rose.
We’re convinced that great wines are made in the vineyard, not in the cellar.
At the same time, it was important for us to remain consistent between our lifestyle choices and our professional choices.
For this reason, organic farming became an obvious choice for us!
Of course, this way of seeing (and doing) things requires a lot more manual labor in the vineyards.
It’s more complicated, more difficult, we challenge ourselves every day, but in the end, seeing our vines in full health and producing the right yield of excellent quality grapes, we’re convinced we’re on the right track.
Today, we couldn’t work any other way!
Once you’ve read all this, you’ll understand that our winemaking methods are the opposite of the industrial methods applied to wines destined to fill supermarket shelves (but yes, it has to be said!).
With us, you’re buying a truly artisanal product.
Our vines have lower yields, our vinifications require fewer products, but demand daily attention and much more time… That’s the price of quality.
