The Bott-Geyl family tree is particularly dense when it comes to vines, and its history is based on the 1926 union of the Bott and Geyl families, heirs to long winegrowing traditions dating back to the 18th century. Over the decades, each member of the family has contributed to the creation of a fine winegrowing heritage and to the construction of the estate’s identity. The Bott-Geyl estate was born of a meeting between two long-established winegrowing families in the heart of Alsace’s vineyards.
Settled between Colmar and Riquewihr, their destinies linked to the world of wine have succeeded one another, crossed, intertwined and, of course, united.
Since 1993, Jean-Christophe and Valérie have continued the family adventure, respecting traditions.
Jean-Christophe draws his inspiration from a rich winegrowing past, the omnipresence of nature, and experience gained from winemakers in France, Germany, Australia and South Africa.
Certified organic and biodynamic for over 20 years, the estate uses a natural, minimalist approach to winemaking. Cultivating diversity, respecting the environment, people and soil identity, harvesting grapes at perfect phenolic maturity. The family blends tradition and modernity to produce great Alsace wines that illustrate the richness and uniqueness of our terroirs.
