A Family Home in Alsace
The Brunnwasser River is not far away. Wooded banks, landscapes of water and greenery. A soothing bucolic setting for the Vieux Couvent. The Alsatian-style house stands there, weathering the years, adorned with bunches of flowers at the windows in summer, covered with pristine snow in winter. It’s a good place to live…
In terms of decoration, simplicity and modernity. On the ceiling, plant motifs carved in rippled sycamore. For the walls, orange tones reminiscent of sea buckthorn, or white and black resin marquetry evoking the landscapes of the Ried. Brightness of the rooms with large bay windows overlooking the river. Warmth of colors… Alexis Albrecht and his entire team invite you!

Son of a self-taught cook, Alexis Albrecht trained in Ottrott, with Patrick Fritz, at a renowned Alsatian winstub. His career is then associated with the great names of French gastronomy: from the Crocodile*** alongside Émile Jung to the Pourcel brothers in Montpellier, passing through Jacques Maximin’s Provence. Fruitful encounters that shape the Chef, now a Michelin star recipient. A success!
Firmly rooted in Alsatian soil, Alexis’s cuisine highlights the treasures of the Ried and the Rhine, vegetables and herbs from the family garden, and about sixty wild plants. A festival of aromas, textures, and flavors punctuated by Italian notes, reflecting his mother Lucienne’s influence. The result: delicious and vibrant dishes!
