At La Maison Rouge, the traditional aspects of the 11th century half-timbered building echo the refined and creative local cuisine of chef Jean Kuentz, known as “Petit Jean”.
Trained at the École Ferrandi and by chef Jean-François Piège, he received the title of Young Talent Gault & Millau in 2020.
A lover of good products, it is in the region that he gets his supplies as a priority to compose new suggestions every week.
In winter, the chef concocts dishes based on game, truffles, scallops, or even root vegetables.
In the spring, the former assistant to renowned chef Jean François Piège sublimates products such as suckling lamb from the Pyrenees, morels and asparagus.

The shop is open Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., at 42 rue Vauban in Colmar, and on Sunday throughout the Christmas market period.
