Beiden bestudeerden wijnstokken en wijn, en reisden de wereld rond om de verschillende invalshoeken van het vak te ontdekken, waarbij ze altijd een open geest hielden. Met hun ervaring introduceerden ze biodynamische landbouw in het familiebedrijf, dat eind jaren 90 al door hun vader was omgeschakeld naar biologische landbouw. Sinds 2009 is de 14 hectare van de boerderij DEMETER-gecertificeerd.
