Nich\u00e9 au centre des ruelles en spirale du plus beau village de France 2013, il est le point d'ancrage d'une histoire qui remonte aux origines m\u00eames de l\u2019Alsace.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<b>Aux racines de l'Alsace<\/b>\r\n\r\nLe comte Eberhard, fr\u00e8re du duc Liutfrid et petit-fils du duc d'Alsace Adalric-Etichon, le p\u00e8re de Sainte Odile, aurait construit ou restaur\u00e9 vers 720 le ch\u00e2teau-fort. Egeno, de la parent\u00e9 d'Eberhard, restaura ensuite le ch\u00e2teau et donna ainsi son nom au village d'Eguisheim, naissant autour de cette forteresse. La famille comtale habita le ch\u00e2teau jusqu'en 1225, date d'extinction de la lign\u00e9e.\r\n\r\nAu milieu du Xe si\u00e8cle, Eguisheim passe par un mariage aux mains des comtes de Nordgau, r\u00e9put\u00e9s pour fonder les abbayes.
