Michelin Stars France 2023

Alsace welcomes the stars of the Michelin Guide 2023.

On Monday, March 6, 2023, Strasbourg hosted the annual Michelin Guide ceremony at the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès. More than 1800 personalities from the world of gastronomy were present for this major event.

Organized in Alsace, this exceptional ceremony brought together professionals and restaurateurs from more than 500 French and European starred restaurants. Alexandre Couillon and his restaurant La Marine were awarded a prestigious third star, while four new establishments received two stars and 39 restaurants received their first star in 2023.

Frédéric Bierry, President of the European Collectivity of Alsace, stressed that this Michelin ceremony was a world first and expressed his pride in the presence of these great chefs in Alsace.

Emmanuel Macron, the President of the Republic, also spoke on video for the first time at the ceremony. He praised the Michelin guide, which he considers a gastronomic bible, and mentioned the prospect of encouraging recruitment by reaching the goal of one million apprentices by 2027.

The Michelin Guide 2023 ceremony highlights the excellence and dynamism of French and European gastronomy, as well as the remarkable work of the chefs and teams who work every day to offer unforgettable culinary experiences.

In total, in 2023, the guide awards 2962 restaurants:
. 29 “three-star” restaurants, one new one in 2023
. 75 “two-star” restaurants: four new ones in 2023
. 526 “one-star” restaurants, 39 new ones in 2023
. 90 “Green Star” restaurants, eight new ones in 2023
. 419 “Bib Gourmand”, 49 new ones in 2023
