Taste of Alsace by Philippe Rauch

founder of naturahome

Philippe Rauch, 59, began his career in the press and later discovered local real estate. In 2020, he created his own company, family-owned, independent, on a human scale, in order to go back to basics: to live his passions and share them. His project NaturaHOME, designer and builder of Habitat, Alsatian and independent, is a certain idea of individual and collective habitat putting forward the comfort, the well-being, the nature, and the freedom of each one. NaturaHOME promises to create an ideal home surrounded by nature for a serene life.

1. A good local dish

The Bouchées à la reine of the Auberge de la Chapelle in Geispolsheim and the tarte flambée of the Auberge à L’Ange in Lipsheim.

2. A DINNER FOR TWO OR BETWEEN FRIENDS

At the restaurant de la Gare in Guewenheim with Michel and Annick Seidel. In love or with friends!

3. THE BEST LAMMELE

Lammele’s bring back memories and flavors of childhood from spring to Easter. Today, I enjoy the very good Lammele from bakeries near me.

4. A SPRING SPECIALITY

The asparagus of the EARL MORGENWEIDER in Village Neuf, at Annabelle Millard’s, with a preference for organic. We never get tired of it!

5. YOUR winegrower

Difficult choice! The Alsatian winegrowers produce more and more exceptional wines. Those of Rémy Kieffer in Itterswiller, are straight, delicate, the welcome is authentic and warm, and the setting superb.

6. A STORE OR MARKET TO EAT LOCALLY

Our market in Wentzwiller, every Saturday morning. Special mention for the vegetables of the local market gardener, and the delicate dishes of the very good caterer Le Safran from Huningue.

7. AN ATMOSPHERE OR A PLACE TO DISCOVER

The wine bar La Quille in Mulhouse. My friends Nicolas Jeangeorges and Marc Deyber offer a large choice of wines, for both experts and amateurs.

8. FAST FOOD OR CATERING, A TAKE-AWAY MENU

Without hesitation, David’s butcher shop “Au plaisir des viandes” in Mulhouse. His poultry and morel pie is a pure marvel!

9. A BUSINESS LUNCH

At the white horse in Feldbach near Ferrette. The tables are spaced out, the good dishes are timeless and the menu offers exceptional wines at affordable prices.

10. A TASTE OF CHILDHOOD

My maternal grandmother’s beef bourguignon with carrot purée. I loved this dish so much that my parents named the puree “philippegemies”.

11. YOUR BEST GOURMET EXPERIENCE

When you are a gourmet, you often experience exceptional moments. One of them was in the world of L’Arnsbourg and its chef Jean-Georges Klein. Emotion, fusion, sensation: what happiness for the taste buds!

12. A DISH YOU LIKE TO COOK

Chicken fillets with Arbois yellow wine and morel mushrooms, served with Alsatian spaeztlés in butter. Very light dish, but what a delight!

13. A PLACE TO RELAX ON WEEKENDS

At the Wellness & Spa of the Hotel Muller in Niederbronn-les-Bains. In the heart of the Vosges du Nord natural park, this peaceful place reminds me of my childhood.

14. A TERRACE IN THE SUN

The atmosphere of the Place de la Réunion in Mulhouse in summer, allows a wide choice of terraces according to our tastes and desires.
