History

The Paul Kubler estate represents four centuries of history, since the arrival in Soultzmatt, of Jean Kubler, who came from
Switzerland in 1620. The cultivation of the vine and the bakery characterize the estate until the 30s. Camille Kubler has been marketing its wines under its own label since 1947. His descendants, Paul and his wife, modernized the estate in the mid-60s. Over time, they build customer loyalty and gain fame. In 2002, Philippe Kubler joined his experience with that of his parents and set himself the goal of affirming the singularity of the estate. In 2014, he was joined by Sandrine, his wife.

Philosophy

With the adage “The terroir sublimates the wine as long as the winemaker respects Nature”, we understand that Philippe
strives to highlight the geological and climatic plurality of Alsatian terroirs, through an approach that respects the vine and the environment. Thus cultivated as a “Garden of Vines”, in an orderly and preserved nature, its vines ripen concentrated and tasty grapes, offering aesthete wines, clean, precise, of great aromatic purity.

The terroirs

Covering 10 ha in the heart of the Noble Valley, the exploitation is based on 5 main geological types: limestone from Cru Luss, pink sandstone from Cru Weingarten, avolcia sandstone from Cru Breitenberg, limestone-sandstone from Grand Cru Zinnkoepflé, or sandstone alluvium. To obtain the best expression of each terroir, the grape varieties are determined according to these different soils.

Did you know

Just 6 km from Le Petit Ballon, Soultzmatt enjoys an exceptional location near the Vosges mountains. Its vineyards benefit from very marked thermal amplitudes constituting ideal ripening conditions for the grapes, between hot days and cool nights.

Wine tourism

In parallel with visits and tastings, the estate has a modern and relaxing cottage to welcome the curious wishing to live a rich experience at the estate.

The coup de ❤

“Z” La Petite Tête au Soleil 2016. The Zinnkoepflé is a prestigious and emblematic hillside of Soultzmatt, with steep and steep slopes facing south. Its privileged location, sheltered from the prevailing winds and precipitation creates a hot and arid microclimate. The Sylvaner is majestic here, producing a great dry wine with oriental notes of spices, white pepper and sun-drenched apricots, combining power, finesse and saline length.
